Somewhere up above the stars
the wreckage of a universe floats past
somewhere up above my heart
a tiny burning feed inside me
stop to say hello
(footage firmament show)
us down below at last
And I heard it on the Radio that one day/someday we'll be living in the stars
I saw/heard it on a TV show that somewhere up above and in my heart (they caught)
they'll be tearing us apart
so we'll be moving up to Mars
(tiny little burning feed instead of 'tearing' before 'they')
This wicked world won't change
so in three seconds that remain, that remain
8-9, 9-10, we are meeting for the first time we might never meet again
You and me we are meeting for the first time can't you see
7-6-5-4-3 we are meeting for the 1st time
singing our/this space symphony
Past the satellites + stars
we'll be moving up to Mars
(we won't see the earth again)
Woo! Ooh ooh ooh
Stole a key
took a car downtown to St. Christophers Street
where the lost boys are/go and took what they offered meSet free? Cartoon me/Blue Sea Lego/set free
Saw the lights go down at the end of the scene
Saw the lights go down and there standing in front of me
Woo
A scarecrow dreams
When they smashed my heart into smithereensWhen they smashed my heart I saw a rose in the concreteI saw a bright red rose come bursting through concrete (crack in the concrete)
Be/and a cartoon heart
light a fire a fire a spark
light a fire a flame in my heart
We were wild we were glowing in the dark
we were glowing in the darkAll the boys all the girls and just a boy, just a girl all that matters in the world
Just a girl, just a boy all the madness (in the world)
just a boy, just a girl, just two kids against the world (hypnofeed)
we were wired, we were glowing in the dark
eh!
Woo!
for a while, we were/we'll be glowing in the dark
A lato del testo, è presente una frase che è forse riferita alla volontà dei Coldplay di concepire Mylo Xyloto come una colonna sonora di un film e che poi si è rivelato un progetto tramontato: 'Could go into M.J. sample from this in the film'.
Nel booklet, vi è anche il testo primitivo di Up With The Birds, la traccia di chiusura dell'album. Eccolo:
(first 2 lines by L. Cohen)
The birds they sang at break of day
Start again I seem to hear them say
- It's so hard
The birds they sand, all a choir
-
- It's so hard
The sky is blue, don't know where don't know who
But the world revealed in red for you
My arms turned wings oh those clumsy things
Lift me up to a wonderful world
and then I'm up with the birds
Whistle: so I don't feel afraid, don't know why get it made
what a wonderful, wonderful... day
The slightest
The locust wind that blows us in
My arms turned wings/oh those clumsy things have now turned to wings
....
Send me away with the birds
Might have to go where they don't know my name
float all over the world just to see her again
And I won't show a feel any pain
Even though all my armor might rust in the rain
A simple plot, I heard them say/I know all
good things are coming our way
A simple plot, or so I heard
we're going up with the birds
oh yeah!
Guide me stranger, sheperd me through danger
tought
Might...
No I won't
When I'm
Guide me, guide me to
Paired with school and spare dance?
If i fall in peril/hot water
or jump in
